Regional Training Centre, Dhaka
Introduction:
Various trainings are provided by the Regional Training Center, Dhaka to meet the need of skilled, wise, visionary human resources for the purpose of building the Sonar Bangla of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman by providing contemporary, effective, inclusive training to the government employees. Apart from this, seminars and workshops are organized on various important contemporary issues. With the aim of building a developed, prosperous, smart Bangladesh, training programs are being conducted for the staff (11 to 20 th grade) working in 54 different programs of the Directorate at the field level. 25 to 30 people are trained in each course. As such, approximately 4000 trainees are trained every year in 6 regional training centers.
Background (including period of commencement of programme):
From the year 1967, the training program of the employees was started through the Inter-Training Center (In Service Training Center) under the Department of Social Services. Later it was named National Social Service Academy. In 1981, three regional training centers were established at Dhaka, Khulna and Rajshahi through a project titled "Regional Training Centers" to meet the training needs of the large manpower of the Directorate. In the fiscal year 1999-2002, by implementing the project titled "Establishment and Development of Regional Training Centers" in Chittagong, Barisal and Sylhet Divisions, the work of establishing three Regional Training Centers, one each in these three divisions, was started.
Aims and Objectives:
Aim: To achieve excellence in education, training, research and skill development in the field of social service.
Objective: To prepare skilled and competent manpower by imparting specialized knowledge and experience based on information-communication technology and modern social work practices for the development of caring societies and communities with special needs.

Statistics (Year-to-date Budget, Beneficiary Statistics):
Target beneficiaries (2001-2023) = 67187 people, number of beneficiaries (2001-2023) = 26926 people)
A total of 3539 persons were trained by 6 Regional Training Centers through 124 courses in FY 2021-22.
A total of 2609 persons have been imparted training by 6 regional training centers during the financial year 2022-23.
A workshop was organized by Regional Training Centre, Dhaka in the presence of 150 people including officers and employees of the Directorate.
During the fiscal year from July 2023 to June 2024, 6 regional training centers provided training to 3284 people through 112 courses. Out of which men - 2507 and women - 777.
